HIO-2009-0401 WebCollab 2.40 CSRF & XSS PDF Print E-mail

WebCollab 2.40 exhibits vulnerabilities which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and cross-site request forgery attacks.

1) Input passed via the "selection" parameter in tasks.php (when "action" is set to "todo") is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

2) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validation checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. change a user's password when a logged in administrator visits a malicious web page.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.40. Other versions may also be affected.
