HIO-2008-1230-2 OpenEdit DAM Multiple Vulnerabilities PDF Print E-mail

OpenEdit DAM , "web based open source digital asset management with web content management", exhibits multiple vulnerabilities which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script-insertion and cross-site request forgery attacks.

1) Input passed to the "name" parameter in archive/savedqueries/savequeryfinish.html is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in the context of an affected site when the malicious entry is viewed.

2) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to perform certain actions e.g. when a logged-in user visits a malicious web site.
